Obituaries For The Piedmont Area

DONALD M. COKER
Funeral services for Donald M. "Don" Coker, Sr., 58, of Ohatchee were at 3 p.m., Monday, April 24, from the chapel of Folsom-Mickelson Funeral Home with the Robert Bearden officiating. Interment followed in the Gnatville Cemetery. Mr. Coker died Saturday, April 22, at RMC in Anniston. Survivors include a son, Donald M. Coker, Jr., of Piedmont; a daughter, Veronica Parker, of Spring Garden; two sisters, Linda Shaw and Wilene Skinner; a special aunt, Mrs. Rachel Holt, of Piedmont; two grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Vaughn Ledbetter, Obie Williams, and Larry Messer A native of Calhoun County, Mr. Coker was born on Nov. 18, 1947, the son of the late David and Evelyn Golden Coker. Prior to ill health, he was a self-employed carpenter and was of the Church of Christ faith.

PEGGY WOLFE CARPENTER
Graveside services for Peggy Wolfe Carpenter, 75, of Anniston, were Monday at 11 a.m. at the Anniston Memorial Gardens with Rev. James Cohorn officiating. K.L. Brown and Cremation Center was in charge of services. Mrs. Carpenter died Friday at Anniston RMC. Survivors include her daughters, Judy Austin, of Anniston and Veronia Hill, of Jacksonville; three sons, John Chris Carpenter, of Weaver, Scott Carpenter, of Birmingham, and Steve Cheatwood, of Anniston; a sister, Imogene Rutledge, of Glencoe; a brother, Gary Wolfe, of Piedmont; seven grandchildren, Miranda, Lance and Holly Austin, Brian Cheatwood, Ashlie and Blake Carpenter, and Cody Blohm; a great-grandchild, Kahne Adams; a nephew, David Langley; four nieces, Patty Carroll, Angie Maddox, Tina Smith and Donna Wagner. Mrs. Carpenter was a resident of Calhoun County most of her life and was of the Baptist faith. A daughter, Denise Bliss; her mother, Luna Needham; two brothers, Travis and Billy Wolfe and a niece Freida Davis preceded her in death.

TERRY D. CROOK
Funeral services for Mr. Terry D. Crook, 62, of Anniston, formerly of Piedmont were conducted Friday, April 28, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Folsom Funeral Home with Rev. Orville Smith officiating. Interment followed in Highland cemetery. Mr. Crook died April 26 at RMC in Anniston. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Mark Dreyer, of Anniston; three grandchildren, Kristi, Morgan and Lanie Dreyer; two sisters and brother-in-laws, Debbie and Bruce Kidd, of Piedmont, Shirley and Ray Allen Dupree, of Piedmont; one brother and sister-in-law, Mickey Joe and Micky Crook, of South Carolina and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Bruce Kidd, David Hasert, Mark Dreyer and Tim Dreyer. Mr. Crook was born Aug. 2, 1943 the son of the late Hoyt Franklin and Martha Elizabeth Studdard Crook. He was of the Baptist faith. Two sisters, Marsha Crook and Nancy Jean Crook, preceded him in death.

HELEN KIRKPATRICK DUVALL
Funeral services for Helen Kirkpatrick Duvall, 81, formally of Piedmont, were April 18, at Muster Funeral Home in Livermore, Ky. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery in Livermore, Ky. Mrs. Duvall died April 14 at the Riverside Manor Health Care Center in Calhoun, Ky. Survivors include a son and his wife, Bobby and Karen Duvall, of Calhoun, Ky; four brothers, Lawrence Kirkpatrick, Jr. and John Roy Kirkpatrick, both of Piedmont, Scottie Kirkpatrick, of Weaver, and Dennis Kirkpatrick, of Amelia Island, Fla; two sisters, Drucilla Pennewell, of Pensacola, Fla., and Linda Fagan, of Piedmont; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Roland J. Duvall; her parents, Ruth Coheley Kirkpatrick and Lawrence and Nina Kirkpatrick; a daughter, Beverly Bartimus and a brother, Jack Kirkpatrick, preceded her in death.

HELEN A. REWIS
Funeral services for Helen A. Rewis, 53, of Haines City, Fla., were Monday at 1 p.m. at the Oak Ridge Funeral Home. Interment was in Forrest Hill Cemetery in Haines City. Mrs. Rewis passed away April 27. Survivors include her husband, Raymond Rewis; two sons, Brian and Brent Rewis; two grandchildren, Meagan and Nathan Rewis, all of Haines City; her mother, Opal Ashworth, of Piedmont, and two sisters, Carol Martin, of Piedmont, and Nancy Ashworth, of Anniston. Mrs. Rewis was a native of Piedmont but lived most of her adult life in Florida. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Leukemia Foundation.

ROBBIE FAWN HOWELL WILLIAMS
Graveside services for Robbie Fawn Howell Williams, 60, of Piedmont were Saturday at 11 a.m. at the White’Äôs Gap Cemetery with the Revs. David Daniels and Jimmy Ford officiating. Mrs. Williams died Thursday at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. She was survived by her husband, Dannie R. Williams, of Piedmont; a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and James Snell, of Rainbow City; two sons and daughter-in-law, Jasper Wade and Karla Williams, of Jacksonville, and Robert Jason and Deborah Williams, of Piedmont; five grandchildren, Brooke Snell, Cliff, Alyssa, Garet and Drew Williams; five sisters, Jean Strickling, of Piedmont, Sue Bailey, of Munford, Billie Green, of Saks, Sheila Webb and Miriam Broome, both of Jacksonville; two brothers, Mike Howell, of Jacksonville, and Aaron Howell, of Golden Springs. Pallbearers were Jeff Pruitt, Jamie Pruitt, Paul Perkins, Gary Homesley, Ashley Penton, Jimmy Westbrook and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Williams was a bus driver for Calhoun County Schools for 18 years.
